Name: MYPros Search & Rescue Event
Date: October 1, 2022
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM EDT
Registration: Sorry, public registration for this event has been closed.
Event Description:

Join us Saturday, October 1st from 9:00am – 12:00pm at the City Forest Monroe Road parking lot. Open to adults and children 8 and up accompanied by an adult. We will be in the woods – not just on trails so long sleeves and pants, as well as boots, are highly recommended. Dress for the weather!

Midland County Search and Rescue (MCSAR) invites MYPros members and their families to join us for a fun morning of search and rescue activities. MCSAR is an all-volunteer organization offering support, assistance, and management when someone goes missing in Mid-Michigan.

Here are some of the things you’ll have a chance to do:

·       Learn how to use an orienteering compass.

·       Use a compass to navigate a course in the woods.

·       Join a search line and look for clues to help us locate our missing subject.

·       Learn about the science behind the search.

·       Learn what to do if you get lost, and hey, this applies to adults as well as kids!

There will be fun games and prizes as well as hotdogs for all!

MCSAR is a responding organization and, though unlikely, could be called out for an active search at any time. Please be aware that last-minute changes necessitated by a search or really foul weather will be communicated to you via email from MyPros.

MCSAR is organized exclusively to safely locate, assist with stabilization, and transporting missing persons of Midland County and surrounding communities on behalf of the office of the Sheriff of Midland County. Membership is open to anyone willing and able to put in the time. Learn more at MidlandSAR.org.
