Complimentary Family Business Consults
The Stevens Center for Family Business at SVSU is extending an invitation to all Chamber members who are established as a Family Business enterprise for a complimentary consultation to learn about membership benefits. The SCFB is a non-profit organization established in 2000 which has been serving the Great Lakes Bay region and beyond. The Stevens Center for Family Business exists to support Michigan Family Businesses with education, collaboration, and networking opportunities.
We are conveniently nestled within the new Carmona College of Business building at SVSU, inside the Business Centers Suite. We are what many of our members refer to as a Great Lakes Bay Area “hidden gem” for area family businesses. Our current members praise the center for our robust learning community that recognizes and addresses the special challenges and rewards of leading an enterprise where one’s livelihood is intrinsically tied to family relationships.
Because family businesses are a unique facet of enterprise design, involving both personal and professional roles within the company environment, the SCFB aims to bring forth numerous opportunities for our Family Business members each year. As a membership-based organization, the Center strives to engage its constituents in learning opportunities that emphasize family business best practices, policies, and principles. Sometimes this involves providing keynote presentations from the “experts”, educators, consultants, trusted advisors, and authors who specialize in the field of family business. Sometimes it involves presentations by the “real experts”, area family business leaders both near and far, whose life’s work is their own family business and have gained solid knowledge and wisdom from their own personal experience. In addition to keynote presentations, the SCFB also focuses on providing peer group sessions, networking opportunities, plus a growing platform of digital resources that can be accessed 24/7.
