BAY CITY, Mich. — Renue Physical Therapy will celebrate 15 years of serving patients across mid-Michigan on Oct. 3, marking a milestone that began with one clinic, a small team and a goal to provide a different physical therapy experience.
Renue Physical Therapy was founded by CEO Tony Klapish on Oct. 3, 2011, with its first location on Bay Road in Saginaw. Today, Renue has grown to 16 locations and more than 100 employees, recording more than 101,000 patient visits in 2025 alone.
While the company has changed considerably over 15 years, Klapish says the idea behind Renue has not.
“When we started Renue, our goal was to give patients a different physical therapy experience. Fifteen years later, I’m most proud that we still hear that from our patients,” Klapish said. “Many come to us after trying therapy somewhere else, living with pain for years or wondering if anything will really help. When they tell us Renue was different, we know we’re still delivering on the promise we made 15 years ago.”
That commitment to the patient experience is reflected in Renue’s 2025 Net Promoter Score of 94, based on feedback from more than 4,200 patients. Net Promoter Score measures how likely patients are to recommend a business or service to others, with a score of 70 or higher generally considered exceptional.
As Renue has grown, the company has also expanded the care available within its existing communities. In recent years, several clinics have moved into larger spaces or expanded their existing footprint, allowing Renue to add therapists and serve more patients.
Renue has also continued to build specialized therapy programs. Certified hand therapy has become a significant area of growth, with two certified hand therapists and three additional hand therapists working toward certification across three Renue locations. Pelvic health services have expanded throughout the organization, and Renue has added pediatric occupational and feeding therapy in Auburn to meet additional needs in the communities it serves.
The company's growth has received recognition at both the state and national levels. Renue has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies four times, including in 2025, and has also been recognized as a Michigan 50 Companies to Watch award recipient through Michigan Celebrates Small Business.
“Growth has never just been about having more locations,” Klapish said. “It allows us to bring great people onto our team, invest in our clinics, develop new specialties and give more patients access to exceptional care. We have some exciting things ahead as we continue investing in technology and finding new ways to improve the patient experience, but the reason we do it will stay the same.”
As Renue looks toward its next 15 years, the company plans to continue investing in its existing clinics, specialty services, team and new technology designed to improve the patient experience.
