Midland Child Advocacy Center provides free child abuse prevention and intervention programs in Midland County. Prevention services include: Car Seat Safety (a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician assesses and installs car seats; car seats are also available for those who qualify); Infant Safe Sleep (pack-n-play kits are available to infants without a safe sleeping environment; education on infant safe sleep practices and developing a plan for infant crying); Second Step® (body safety lessons for children); Stewards of Children® (child sexual abuse prevention training for adults); HOPE® (resilience scienced and lived experience framework training); and Pinwheels for Prevention® campaign (celebrated every April for Child Abuse Prevention Month). Intervention services include: coordination of child abuse investigations through a multidisciplinary team approach; monthly case review trainings; forensic interviewing services; victim advocacy and support.
