Safe & Sound Child Advocacy Center provides a refuge and a voice for abused and neglected children. The center was established by concerned community members in 1979 as the Midland County Child Protection Council. Safe and Sound provides child abuse prevention and intervention services to Midland County. Our forensic interview services coordinate the investigation of child sexual or severe physical abuse into one non-threatening, fact-finding interview. Prevention efforts include: Adopt-a-Child's Smile program (provides basic dental care to low-income, uninsured Midland County children); Child Passenger Safety program (a community initiative to purchase and distribute car seats and provide instruction on correct use to Midland County families); Safe Sleep Initiatives (providing pack n play kits to low income new parents unable to provide a safe sleep environment for their newborn) and child abuse prevention education programs for children in the classrooms and adults in the community.
